Circular Economy Leadership Canada is launching a Knowledge Series of free, public webinars dedicated to sharing information on topical themes and focus areas relevant to the circular economy transition in Canada, with the purpose advancing circularity education and accelerating action.

The first webinar in the Knowledge Series focused on Funding for Circular Initiatives in Canada and took place on November 10th, 2022, from 9:30am-11:00am Pacific time / 12:30pm-2:00pm Eastern time.

Event Description:

Securing funding for circular economy companies and projects can be a challenge – and is often a laborious and complex process; whether it be funding for companies to support the scale up of their business models, funding to support important research, or sourcing capital for infrastructure projects.

CELC hosted a Knowledge Exchange webinar on the topic of funding opportunities for circular initiatives. A variety of speakers from across public and private sectors shared insights on what funding is available within Canada and how organizations could position their companies, projects, and applications to maximize the potential for successful funding.

Session Objectives:

Outline various funding opportunities and avenues available to organizations interested in advancing circular economy opportunities in Canada.
Provide recommendations, insights, and tips from experts in this area to ensure the likelihood of a successful outcome.

Speakers:

Bryn Crawford, Manager, MMRI Circular Economy Programs, UBC
Graham Day, Director of Impact Investing, Spring Activator
David Messer, Executive Director, Circular Opportunity Innovation Launchpad (COIL)
Mathieu Sasseville, Principal Advisor, Impact Investment, Fondaction
Emmanuella Sea-Nduka, Business Partner, Emissions Reduction Alberta
